The full name of the Shore School Senior Library is the Boer War Contingent Memorial Library. The first library building was opened in 1903 as a memorial to three Old Boys who had been killed in the South African Wars and to remember all the Old Boys who served in South African and China Wars. The library moved to the B.H Travers Centre site in 1976, and the building was extended and refurbished in 2000. It is now a ‘richly resourced’ library with an impressive collection and an enviable view of the Central Business District.
